Ancient Greek Vase Painting and Chinese Ceramics: Civilizations in Dialogue
Centered on exchange and mutual learning between civilizations, the exhibition offers a comprehensive, scholarly juxtaposition of two great ceramic traditions, read from a Chinese perspective.
One hundred ancient Greek painted vases and one hundred Chinese ceramic works (and sets), shown side by side — the first large-scale dialogue, across two millennia, between these two civilizations of earth and fire.

An aesthetics of glaze · defined by high-temperature firing

- The Five Great Kilns of the Song dynasty: Ru, Guan, Ge, Jun and Ding
- The imperial kilns of Jingdezhen under the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties
Beneath the warm glaze lies an aesthetic completed jointly by formula, kiln temperature and time.
